Spend time exploring Australia’s largest undercover railway museum, the National Railway Museum and step back in time as you visit some of the trains that made the Australian railways famous, such as the Tea and Sugar, the old Ghan and the Melbourne Express. Walk through old carriages, jump aboard the cabs of some of the preserved steam locomotives or just admire this popular form of travel from days past.

Home to no less than 5 gauges of railway and exhibits, the National Railway Museum is truly a world class museum with displays and exhibits surpassed by no other museum within Australia. Enjoy seeing broad, standard and narrow gauge history and rollingstock from the South Australian Railways, The Commonwealth Railways, Australian National Railways and many more.

Travel to the seaside suburb of Glenelg to enjoy a bite for lunch prior to boarding the Glenelg tram into the city of Adelaide.

Next visit Journey Beyond's Keswick Parkland Terminal to see some of the world-famous trains operated from Adelaide to other states around Australia. Purchase a souvenir from the gift shop.

After taking a photo of 2 around the Parklands Terminal, travel into the Adelaide Hills and follow parts of the Adelaide to Melbourne Railway line. Take the opportunity to see some of the historic railway stations along the way before arriving at the Steamranger Heritage Railway's Mount Barker Station.

Visit the station platform and view the selection of Souvenirs, booklets and DVDs. Next be guided through the Steamranger depot to inspect the operating fleet of engines, carriages and railcars, in addition to some of the ongoing restoration projects Steamranger currently are undertaking.

After your time at Mount Barker, travel out of the Adelaide Hills and back to your Adelaide accommodation.
