Enjoy Touring with the South Coast Wine Train
Enjoy rail travel from yesteryear with a few wines from today, the South Coast Wine Train tour travels along the Steamranger Heritage Railway from Mount Barker to Strathalbyn and onward to the South Coast villages of Goolwa and Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Along the journey guests enjoy the opportunity to tour the nearby cellar doors and vineyards at Langhorne Creek, Currency Creek and the Southern Fleurieu wine regions. These regions are home to some award winning family owned and boutique wineries and vineyards dating back to the 1850's who are producing premium wines that are highly regarded in national and international wine circles.
Due to ongoing bridge works between Strathalbyn and Goolwa, the South Coast Wine Train tour is temporarily unavailable. We eagerly anticipate resuming this popular tour to showcase the beautiful wineries of Langhorne Creek, Currency Creek, and the South Coast once the railway section reopens, hopefully by 2026.
In the meantime, if you’re looking for a wine experience, consider joining one of our other tours to Langhorne Creek, McLaren Vale, the Barossa Valley, or the Adelaide Hills. For rail travel enthusiasts, we also offer a variety of other railway-based tours.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you back on board soon!
